    Description

    Sold as a set, antique plain glazed white ironstone mug 4 inches tall and 4 - 6 inches in diameter from handle to spout. The 'saucer' / plate it is sitting on appears to be an original match. It is decorated with a floral - leaf - vine design and of the same white glazed ironstone. Neither the mug nor the plate are marked. Came from estate lot rural Indiana and may have been produced at small local pottery; appears primitive and design features suggest 1890 - 1910. The glazed surface of the mug and of the plate show significant crazing but the ceramic itself is still sound. There is a chip on the bottom of the mug. Nice antique pieces with definite antique look still usable.
