Antique Victorian 15" Fireman's Short Axe w/ Original Leather Holster CCFB 1869
Used
Victorian Period Firefighter's Short Axe with Leather Holster Belt.
The axe features a wood handle with Steel head.  Marked "CCFB 1869" on handle and stamped "CCFB C9 9I7" on one side of head and "951" on the opposite pick shaped poll.
Maybe Cornwall County Fire Brigade or Cambridge County Fire Brigade.   but other than the "Fire Brigade"....it's unknown
Axe measures 15" in length and is 8" at the widest point.
Leather belt and holster is black in color with silver buckle and hardware.  Hand stitched covered holster with fitted interior firmly holds axe.
Inside holster stamped "CCFB 1869".  Piece shows no other makers marks.
Measures approximately 50" in total length, 2 1/8" wide belt, 4 1/2" high at holster.
Condition:
All in good condition showing light wear and marks throughout. Leather still nice with no cracks or lost stitching, but does show rubs and wear. Unique item displays very well and would make a fine addition to any collection.
